The HP T610 is a small computer designed to be used as a terminal in virtualized desktop environments.
The computer was launched in 2012, with a AMD T56N dual core processor with 1.65GHz, DDR3 1333MHz memory, SATA, USB 3.0, RJ45 ethernet connector and a Radeon HD 6320 graphic card.
By adding a few extra parts its possible to transform it in a decent LUBUNTU machine, or even use it as a cheaper alternative to a Raspberry Pi for basic home servers. I will add a 320GB hard-drive with 3D printed mount, replace the CMOS battery, fresh thermal paste, 2GB of RAM and WiFi. Most of the parts were sourced from older computers I had around.
The T610 does not have any screws holding the covers in place, just pressing a few flaps releases all of them. Below is a top view of the motherboard and of the parts I added.
The final project ended up looking like this. It was quick and easy to assemble.
